Floyd W. Reid

Floyd W. Reid, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:17 P.M., Friday, October 22, 2004 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Floyd had been a greeter at the Du Quoin Super Wal-Mart Store for over five years. He was a retired shear-operator for General Motors Company after 30 years of service. He was a Presbyterian. He was a US Army Veteran of W.W. II. Floyd was a member of the Du Quoin VFW and the UAW.
He was born September 30, 1921 at Chicot County, Ark. the son of Robert F. and Mary Louise (Connerly) Reid.
He married Virginia R. Runck on November 24, 1945 at Pinckneyville, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one daughter- Sandra Kay Ceja of Plainfield, one son- Jeffrey Phillip Reid of Du Quoin, five grandchildren- Jason Phillip Reid of Du Quoin, Tracy Lee Reid of Du Quoin, Samantha Ceja Tilley of Plainfield, Jeffrey Phillip Reid Jr. and Amy Lynn Reid both of Du Quoin, two great grandchildren- Desiree Alexander Ceja and Emily Ann Tilley both of Plainfield, he is also survived by cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the I.O.O. F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted.
